Cape Shank

After Easter we journeyed down to Cape Shank. It is a magnificiently sculptured and wild area sittting on an escarpment that overlooks the Great Southern Ocean. It was a relaxing few days spent in blissful sunny conditions with a complete absence of high winds that frequent the coastline of the Mornington Peninsula. Above you is the rock aptly named 'The Pulpit" and in the rock pool just above I discovered many interesting marine life including some brightly coloured fish scurrying between crevices in the rocks.

The pictures along your coast remind me so much of the California coast. Beautiful!

I must get down to Cape Schank one of these days. We get in a rut always heading the same direction out of Melbourne (north).

Can I ask how you uploaded your photos? I see the Picasa symbol at the bottom of the post, but you've managed more than one photo. How many can you upload at once? I am still uphappy with the uploading through blogger, especially trying to move them around in the post afterwards.

Such dramatic beauty, Lindsay. I can imagine it is an awesome experience to visit there.

your lovely photos have the kayak and digital camera vying for top spot on my wish list. which comes first, paddling through nature's gifts, or sharing pictures of them? tough choice, though the selfish part of me says "paddle, and look at other people's photos for now"

How beautiful Lindsay. That is why I always hope for a future trip to Australia. It looks so peaceful and as you said, sculptured. A great place for a reverie,
Ingrid
