Birthday Blooms

My wife will be 60 soon in June, so I composed this poem.

I thought of a poem for my dear wife
A trusted companion, for 40 years of my life
Rather not sing to her, a usual birthday line
Prefer short verse, best keep it in rhyme

Anne celebrates 60 years of her life
She cares for her family, has cared all her life
Her emotions like oceans, her writings so deep
Stories of childhood, day dreams for sweet sleep

Opinions are sought, children’s ask every day
Answers from Anne, you can trust her to say
What she thinks, in her own logical way
Emotion gives notions emotional sway

Anne celebrates 60 years of her life
She cares for her family, has cared all her life
Her emotions like oceans, her writings so deep
Stories of childhood, day dreams for sweet sleep

Happy birthday my wife, my dearest best friend
Lifetimes together, are the blooms every spring
Life branches grow to one limb to one life
Sweet birthday wishes, one family to dear wife

What a wonderful tribute, Lindsay. Your wife is a lucky lady, and please give her my best wishes. I hope she enjoys making use of her seniors card too. We seniors deserve it (despite the bad press we're getting lately!)

Hi Granny, Madcap, Dellab. DA, Raider droubi, Arulba, Wendy and Val.
Thanks for visiting and for your kind thoughts. It’s actually nice to both almost be seniors, and yes we are blessed and lucky to have one another.
best wishes

I love it. What a precious tribute. It's one of your best. (I imagine she cried at least a little.) Happy birthday to your lady.
